How did you get started in training and what sparked your interest in becoming a trainer?

I have always had an interest in sports and fitness. I coached netball for eleven years and played indoor and outdoor netball most of my life. Once my children became teenagers (as I have always been a hands on Mother) I decided to take up a career in Personal training. I have always enjoyed helping people and decided with my age and life experiences that this career would suite me. This has been the best decision I have made in years. I love my job and enjoy training people of all ages, sizes and nationalities.

What keeps YOU motivated?
I have always been a highly motivated person, but my family and the results that I see from my clients keep me motivated.

What does your training routine look like?
I have so specific training routine as each PT session is designed for each client depending on their fitness level, goals likes and dislikes as for myself I run and participate in 4 one hour boot camps a week, do to cardio days, 2 weight days and when I get the time I swim

What is your favourite workout music?
I really enjoy modern music and get my daughter to download all of her songs onto my iPad.

What are some of your favorite motivational quotes?
• If life hands you a lemon make lemonade or even better squeeze it and put it in your Gin (That last bit I added myself)

If you could be one athlete or person for a day, who would it be and why?
I would love to be Tempara George. I admire her fitness level, skill and dedication to the game.

What are some tips you have for people looking to get into shape?
Believe in yourself, have faith in yourself be kind to yourself.
Have a good group of people that encourage and support you.
Be happy with the body you have
Make goals for yourself
Learn to be consistent as this is the key to any success

What is the difference between working with a personal trainer compared to exercising alone?
A Personal trainer is exactly that. Someone who works with you on a personal level. Any good trainer will find out what you are trying to achieve and help you get there. Everyone always works harder if motivated by someone else and that’s a trainer job. They help you set goals, create sessions specific to those goals and help keep you motivated and on track. They give you support and encouragement and will push you that little bit harder than you would if working alone. They have also been trained to know how to mix things up so you don’t get bored and keep getting adaptations rather than stagnating.
